Wayward is going through some operational changes and unfortunately we are going to have to be very selective in the number of cats we take in for awhile. If you have a cat in need, please reach out to us but we may not be able to take the cat in right away or at all. Please visit our Resources & Links page for other shelter options.
The Wayward Shelter is Officially Open!
After a year of construction, we were finally able to move our cats into the shelter! Our building features a quarantine room with six large stainless steel kennels, an open area adoption room and an outdoor enclosure where the cats in the adoption area can explore the great outdoors!
|Wayward Whiskers was selected to participate in the first ever Bexar County High School Film Festival! We partnered with the amazing students and teachers of Central Catholic High School to create a promotional video. We hope you like it!|
Wayward Whiskers Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in San Antonio, TX founded in January 2013. We take in stray special needs cats and kittens that may otherwise be abandoned or euthanized.
We accept cats from the public when space is available, as well as pull from local shelters. We provide top-notch veterinary care including any surgeries or treatments the cats may need, and then find forever homes for them. We also are one of the few shelters in San Antonio that accepts FIV positive cats.
Wayward Whiskers operates solely on support from individual and corporate donors. We do not receive any city or government funding.
