Introducing the Wayward Whiskers Foundation! We have decided to move away from intaking cats and instead will assist feral cat colony caretakers with food and spay/neuter surgeries. We are excited about this next chapter in the Wayward book! For more information on how to receive assistance, please visit the Information tab.
WE DO NOT TAKE CATS FROM THE PUBLIC
12-1-2018 - 2-28-2019: We were so lucky to be selected as the nonprofit supported by the Greller Gallery this year! Patti Schermerhorn is an incredible artist and donated a portion of the proceeds of her artwork to Wayward! She is also selling personalized pet portraits. Click here to see Patti's website, and click through the gallery below for photos of her artwork!
The Wayward Shelter is Officially Open!
After a year of construction, we were finally able to move our cats into the shelter! Our building features a quarantine room with six large stainless steel kennels, an open area adoption room and an outdoor enclosure where the cats in the adoption area can explore the great outdoors!
|Wayward Whiskers was selected to participate in the first ever Bexar County High School Film Festival! We partnered with the amazing students and teachers of Central Catholic High School to create a promotional video. We hope you like it!|
Wayward Whiskers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in San Antonio, TX founded in January 2013. Until April 2022 we operated as a cat rescue but we no longer take in cats. We established the foundation to support feral cat colonies by providing food and spay/neuter services to their caretakers. We will also assist families with vet bills and other associated pet costs as we have funding available. We want to keep cats in their homes and prevent them from being surrendered to shelters, abandoned or euthanized.
Wayward Whiskers operates solely on support from individual and corporate donors. We do not receive any city or government funding.
